At Dave McNeilly we aim to provide a friendly and warm environment for our students and their families. We are proud to be a community school where our families are always welcomed. Our support staff are intrical part of our school and help our students to do their very best. Our Leader in Me programming ensures that all students are included and encouraged to find their strengths. This coming year we are pleased to offer a host of new program options including PACE Academy, KINDERTECH, PEAK Cricket and Culinary Arts Programming. We are grateful to be partnering with Bethel Happy Place Daycare to offer Daycare and Before and After school care for our families. What are the new programs planned for next year?
Dave McNeilly Public School is proud to announce that we will be hosting a Program for Academic Challenge and Enrichment, PACE Academy, starting in September 2018. The program is designed for students in Grade 4, 5 or 6 who are independent learners with extraordinary numeracy/literacy skills - one or two grade levels above their current grade expectations. Interested parents should join us for an information session on Tuesday March 27th at 7pm at Dave McNeilly Public School.
Dave McNeilly Public School is proud to offer KINDERTECH for ECDP and Kindergarten for 2018-2019.
KinderTech is a program for students who want to experience technology infused early learning. KinderTech at Dave McNeilly Public School will encompass elements of basic coding, science, art, math, engineering and a variety of other technologies within an early learning context.
Dave McNeilly Public School offers the KinderTech Program in addition to a traditional half day ECDP and Kindergarten program. Interested parents are invited to join us for Open House on March 22nd from 5-7pm or March 23rd from 9-12pm.
Culinary Arts Program
The Culinary Arts Program (CAP) is a program for students who want to learn basic food preparation, food safety and other culinary skills within a school context.
Dave McNeilly Public School will offer the Culinary Arts Program (CAP) beginning September 2018 to students enrolled in Grade 4, 5 or 6. Interested parents should join us for an information session on Tuesday May 9th at 7pm at Dave McNeilly Public School.
Dave McNeilly is pleased to offer PEAK Cricket Academy for Grades 4-6 for 2018-2019. The FMPSD PEAK Athletic Academy - Passion, Excellence, Attitude, Knowledge was first introduced in Fort McMurray Public Schools at École McTavish Junior High School and École Dickinsfield Elementary School in September 2011 with the focus & commitment to balance and develop academics, athletics and character. Focusing on these 3 areas gave our students the advantage to develop life skills and build a solid foundation for their future as citizens and leaders of their community. Our focus is on our students excelling in academics, athletics and leadership. Interested parents should join us for an information session on Tuesday March 26th at 7pm at Dave McNeilly Public School.

What extracurricular programming will be available for students next year?
We are always looking at ways to expand our extra-curricular programming. We currently offer Learning Through the Arts, Lego Club, Tech and Trades, Sports like volleyball and basketball, Brickz 4 Kidz, Paint Club and Choir. Next year we hope offer all of these again and many more. For instance next year we will be offering a Culinary Arts (Cooking) Club.

Is child care available at the school?
We are excited to inform our families that we have partnered with Bethel Happy Daycare Center starting September 2018. Bethel Happy Place Daycare Center will provide daycare, before and after school care. Preference will be given to Dave McNeilly Public School families.
